  1. LUBE + TIRES TAKES YOU TO THE MOVIES (the “Contest”)

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES (the “Contest Rules”)

NO PURCHASE REQUIRED TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT

INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

  1. ELIGIBILITY:

This Contest is intended for participation by legal Canadian residents (excluding Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon) over the legal age of majority in their province of residence and who have a valid email address and internet access prior to the commencement of this Contest.  You may not participate if you are not a legal Canadian resident and physically located within Canada at the time of entry. This Contest is not open to individuals employed by Mr. Lube + Tires Canada GP Inc. (“Sponsor”), its parent, affiliate or subsidiary companies, franchisees, representatives, agents, partners, licensees, sponsors, administrators, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively “Contest Parties”) at any time during the Contest Period (defined below), and members of their immediate family (spouse/domestic partner, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) or persons living in the same household, whether related or not, are not eligible. 

  1. REGIONS: 

For the purposes of this Contest, there will be ten (10) regions (each, a “Region”).  Each province is its own Region. 

  1. TO ENTER:

No purchase necessary. 

Visit www.mrlubemovies.com (the “Website”) and complete the online entry form with all required information, including your name, mailing address, valid phone number and valid email address, in accordance with all instructions provided (as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion) to receive one (1) entry for a chance to win. Entries will be accepted between 12:00 am ET on May 15, 2025 and 11:59 pm ET on June 30, 2025 (the “Contest Period”).  For purposes of this Contest, “receipt” of an entry occurs when the Contest Parties’ servers record the entry information resulting from the entrant clicking the “Submit” button.  Automated entries (including, but not limited to, entries submitted using any robot, script, macro, or other automated service) are not permitted and will be disqualified.  Maximum one (1) entry per person/household. To be eligible to receive an entry, you must fully complete and submit the online entry form in accordance with these Contest Rules during the Contest Period.  

The Contest Parties and each of their respective agents, employees, directors, officers, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries (all of which are void).  Entries in excess of the maximum stated above will be void.  Sponsor is not responsible for any failure of the Website during the Contest Period, including any telephone problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received on account of traffic congestion on the internet or at the Website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participation in the Contest. 

By participating in this Contest, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these official Contest Rules. Standard data rates apply to participants who choose to participate in the Contest via a mobile device (please contact your service provider for pricing and service plan information and rates before mobile device participation). All entries and entrants are subject to verification at any time and for any reason.  The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor) for any reason the Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with the letter and spirit of these Rules.  Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified may result in disqualification. If it is discovered by the Sponsor that any person has attempted to exceed any of the limits stated in these Contest Rules and/or disrupt or participate in the Contest in any other fraudulent or misleading way, then they and/or their entry may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. 

  1. PRIZES: 

There are a total of one-hundred and ten (110) total prizes (the “Prizes”) available to be won in the Contest including, as follows: 

  1. Grand Prizes (10 – 1 per Region):  There are a total of ten (10) Grand Prizes (the “Grand Prizes”)  available to be won.  There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won in relation to each Region.   Each Grand Prize consists of:
  • Cineplex VIP Movie Passes (admission only) for a Year – which will be awarded in the form of two (2) gift cards per month for twelve (12) consecutive calendar months.  All Cineplex prize gift cards will be awarded at the same time.  Gift Cards are transferable and can be used at any time.  Gift cards cover admission price only.  Additional booking fees for online bookings not included.   The approximate retail value of this portion of the Grand Prize is $457.92 CAD.  Sponsor may opt to award the cash equivalent value of this portion of the Grand Prize (to be awarded in the form of a cheque payable in the name of the confirmed winner) if there is no Cineplex VIP theatre in the vicinity of a confirmed winner (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).   
  • Free Oil Change at Mr. Lube + Tires – which will be awarded as a $150 CAD Mr. Lube + Tires Gift card for free oil change.  Prices for oil changes vary by store.  Any additional funds remaining on the card would remain on the card balance for winners to use as they wish.  
  1. Secondary Prizes (100):  There are a total of one hundred (100) Secondary Prizes available to be won.  Each Secondary Prize consists of:
    • Cineplex Night Out at the Movies – which will be awarded in the form of two (2) Cineplex movie general admission + popcorn and drink coupons.   The approximate retail value of this portion of the Grand Prize is $42.78 CAD. 
  • Free Oil Change at Mr. Lube + Tires – which will be awarded as a $150 CAD Mr. Lube + Tires Gift card for free oil change.  Prices for oil changes vary by store.  Any additional funds remaining on the card would remain on the card balance for winners to use as they wish.  

Cineplex is not affiliated with this Contest. If the movie admission portion of a certificate is redeemed online, it is subject to the payment of an online booking fee is payable. The fee, which allows for advanced seat selection and sharable digital tickets, is waived for CineClub™ members, $1.00 +tax for Scene+ members and $1.50 +tax for everyone else and is charged on the first four tickets in a transaction. There is no fee if the certificate is redeemed at a theatre.

 Total ARV of all prizes: $25,357.20 (CAD).  

  1. RANDOM DRAWING:

On Friday, July 11, 2025 at 1:00 pm ET in Toronto, Ontario, a series of random draws will be held, as follows: 

Grand Prizes (10 – 1 per Region):  One (1) eligible winner per Region will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these Contest Rules in each Region.   The odds of winning a Grand Prize depend on the number of eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these Contest Rules in each Region.

Secondary Prizes (100):  One hundred (100) eligible winners will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries (excluding Grand Prize winning eligible entries) submitted and received in accordance with these Contest Rules.   Secondary Prizes will not be awarded on a regional basis.  The odds of winning a Secondary Prize depend on the number of eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these Contest Rules.

There is a limit of one (1) prize per person/household. 

Selected entrants will be contacted by email and/or phone as set out in Rule 6 below. To be declared a winner, each selected entrant must complete and return the Declaration and Release and have correctly answered, unaided, the mathematical skill-testing question as described below. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding. 

  1. CLAIMING PRIZE:

NO ONE IS A WINNER UNLESS AND UNTIL THE SPONSOR OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS THEM AS A WINNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE RULES.  Selected entrants will be contacted by email and/or phone beginning on or around Monday July 14, 2025. To be declared a winner, a selected entrant must: (a) respond to notification within five (5) business days of Sponsor’s first attempt to contact selected entrant; (b) complete, sign and return a declaration and release (the “Declaration and Release”) sent by the Sponsor, by the deadline noted in the documentation; and (c) have correctly answered without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question in the Declaration and Release. 

Return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable or failure of selected entrant to: (a) be reached within five (5) business days of the first attempt to contact; (b) correctly answer the skill-testing question in the Declaration and Release; (c) return the Declaration and Release within the time specified; or (d) otherwise comply with any of the terms and conditions set out in these Contest Rules will result in the disqualification of selected entrant and selection of an alternative eligible entrant (in accordance with the applicable procedures in Rule 5 above) who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner. 

Only the prizes specified herein will be awarded. Each prize must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be transferred, substituted or exchanged, whether in cash, trade-in, or otherwise except at Sponsor’s sole discretion and subject to all applicable federal local and provincial/territorial laws and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value or the cash value of a prize, for any reason including, but not limited to: production delays, labour disruptions, part shortages, plant closures, model discontinuation, adverse weather conditions or other events outside of the control of Sponsor. Released Parties expressly disclaim any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery, acceptance and/or subsequent use or misuse of the prize awarded. All characteristics and features of each prize, except as otherwise explicitly stated above, are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion

All prizes will be awarded by registered post. Sponsor is not responsible for any delays, errors or loses due to delivery errors.  

Gift Cards and coupons are subject to terms and conditions on the back of each and as otherwise specified by the retailer. Gift cards and coupons have no implied warranties, are not a credit card or debit card, and are redeemable for merchandise only and will not be redeemed or exchanged for cash, cheque or credit.  Lost, stolen or damaged gift cards and/or coupons will not be canceled and/or replaced without the required proof of acceptance by the winner.  Additional terms and conditions may apply. 

  1. RELEASES; LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:

By entering this Contest, entrants agree to release the Sponsor and the other Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with the Contest and their participation therein, to indemnify the Sponsor and all of the other Released Parties against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your participation, and that all aspects of their participation complies with all conditions stated in these Contest Rules. By entering this Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and all of the other Released Parties from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, 1) the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any Prize awarded herein; or 2) participation or attempt to participate in the Contest or any prize-related activities. Upon delivery of the Prize to the confirmed winner, Sponsor and the other Released Parties will be deemed to have awarded the Prize to the confirmed winner with the confirmed winner assuming full responsibility for the Prize. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Sponsor and the other Released Parties will not be liable for (a) any incomplete or inaccurate information, whether caused by the Contest entrants or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries; (b) the theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; or (c) any late, lost, misdirected, damaged, garbled, illegible or incomplete entries which will be deemed void. 

  1. PRIVACY:

By entering this Contest, you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your submitted personal information by Sponsor and its authorized agents for the purpose of administering the Contest and prize fulfillment and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (linked below). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information. 

By accepting prize, Contest winners consent to Sponsor’s and its representatives’ use of their name, photograph and/or likeness, address (city/province/territory), voice, and statements made by or attributed to them, in perpetuity, in any and all media now known or hereafter developed (including, without limitation, print, broadcast and Internet), for all legitimate business purposes including advertising and promotional activities.

  1. MISCELLANEOUS CONDITIONS:

If, for any reason, including but not limited to, an act of God, epidemic, pandemic, or other force majeure event, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, and amend these Contest Rules, and as applicable may select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation in compliance with these Contest Rules in accordance with the procedures set out above. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest will be disqualified from this Contest, and may be disqualified from any future contest or promotion offered by Sponsor. ANY ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Should winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner will be required to promptly return to Sponsor their prize, or the cash value thereof. Declaration and Release documents are subject to verification by the Sponsor. 

Any Declaration and Release document which is, as the case may be, incomplete, illegible, manually or mechanically reproduced, mutilated, fraudulent, obtained from an unauthorized source, received or submitted late, bearing an invalid phone number, not bearing the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question or otherwise noncompliant shall be rejected and will not entitle to a prize, as the case may be. In no event shall the Sponsor be required to award more prizes than indicated in these Contest Rules or to award a prize otherwise than in compliance with these Contest Rules. Any entrant selected for a prize acknowledges the only warranty applicable to the prize is the standard manufacturer warranty, as applicable. No communication or correspondence related to this Contest shall be exchanged with entrants except as provided for in these Contest Rules or at the Sponsor’s initiative. All entries and Declaration and Release documents are the property of the Sponsor and shall not in any case be returned to entrants. If a section of the Contest Rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a competent court, that section shall be considered invalid, but all unaffected sections will be applied within the limits of the law. 

The Sponsor and the other Released Parties will not be liable for: (i) any technical malfunction or other problems of any nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, the failure of any entry and/or other information to be received, captured or recorded for any reason whatsoever; (ii) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating in the Contest; (v) anyone being incorrectly and/or mistakenly identified as a winner or eligible winner; and/or (vi) any combination of the above. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to, the Website, point of sale, print or online advertising and/or any instructions or interpretations of these Contest Rules given by any representative of the Sponsor, the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial/territorial and municipal laws. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Contest Rules or the rights and obligations of participants, Sponsor or any of the other the Released Parties in connection with the Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the domestic laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.  The parties hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Ontario in any action to enforce (or otherwise relating to) these Contest Rules or relating to the Contest.
